Elizabeth A. Ekl

Elizabeth Ekl has vast experience representing public and private sector clients in complex federal and state litigation. Elizabeth began her career as an assistant state’s attorney in the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office, where she tried more than 100 cases to verdict and became a champion for victim’s rights in the felony Domestic Violence Unit. She has worked extensively in the defense of police, municipalities, governmental entities, and school officials in high profile and high exposure civil rights cases. Her practice also includes risk management analysis, internal employee investigations, and third-party representation. She has achieved numerous client-favorable dismissals and summary judgments, facilitated complex settlements involving mass tort and class actions, and successfully presented arguments to the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

Elizabeth has been a Board Member of the Federal Bar Association – Chicago Chapter since 2019 and has been an Executive Board Member since 2023.
